Provenance

Purpose:
To produce comparable, population-level measures that add a quality dimension to life expectancy — i.e., to show not only how long people live but how many of those years are likely to be lived in good health or without disabling limitations. These measures inform public health policy, health inequality analysis and planning for health and social care.
