Case-mix Adjusted Percentage of Cancers Diagnosed at Stages 1 and 2 in England
Dataset
Documentation
Description:
This indicator measures the proportion of patients with cancer who are diagnosed at an early stage (stages 1 or 2), out of all patients diagnosed with cancer (stages 1–4). Data are presented separately for 21 cancer groups and reported at sub-Integrated Care Board (sub-ICB) level. Results are case-mix adjusted to account for variations in patient characteristics (such as age, sex, deprivation, and co-morbidities), enabling fairer comparison across geographical areas. The indicator is provided for both one-year and three-year cohorts following diagnosis and serves as a measure of early cancer detection performance.
